Year 7 Days 241 to 242
Weather: Cold
Hexes Explored: None
At dawn The Ninth Bloom manifests a short way outside of Stag’s Fort. A tor-like hill appears on the brow of which is an impossible tall, white tower called High Folly Tower. A great, black wrym is flying above the tower. Charging down the hill towards Stag’s Fort is a horde evil and twisted monsters of every description thousands upon thousands strong!
To meet this threat The Founders mobilize the five army units that are stationed in Stag’s Fort; Kundal’s Commandos (lead by General Kundal), The Stag Knights (lead by King Aldous), The Elite Cavalry (lead by Alex), a unit of one hundred infantry (lead by Kesh) and a
Unit of five hundred infantry (lead by Lynessa).
A desperate battle rages throughout the day of the 26th. It continues without rest or quarter through the night and then into the next day. The enemy horde attacks without mercy or thought for their own safety. Vast areas or Stag’s Fort are destroyed. Casualties are heavy; Lynesa’s infantry unit is destroyed although Lynessa escapes with serious injuries. Kundals’ Commandos are forced to retreat due to casualties but return to the field of battle only to be destroyed. General Kundal himself is killed.
By the early hours of the 27th the defenders are beginning to drop from pure exhaustion but make a final stand around the castle where they are finally able to break the attacking horde.
With the destruction of the army High Folly Tower (and the dragon) vanishes leaving behind only a patch of sand where it stood. Lynessa determines that a handful of this sand is the Trophy of The Ninth Bloom.
Following the battle The Founders spend time doing what they can to reassure the citizens of Stag’s Fort. Lynessa find Kundal’s body. Kesh visits Eranix. Lynessa teleports to Dagger Mark to obtain the necessary materials to have Kundal resurrected. She also collects magical healing supplies that The Founders believe that they may need once they get to Thousand Breaths.
